Inspiration Day

Because sometimes, you just need some inspiration....

I do believe that most of these (if not all) came from Funky Junk Interiors. I should have saved that info, but I had planned on keeping them in my inspiration folder on my desktop. I never planned to share them. So, just to reiterate: THESE ARE NOT MY PICTURES. But I wish they were. So beautiful, lovely, calming, and they make me covet.  I think my favorite is the recipe cards. I am gonna find out how to make your own, because I don't think that I would hang up Grandma's recipes for the sun to damage, or get oil splattered on.
P.s. How do you like the new A Little Something, Too look? Much more my style. One day when I get a .com address, it will be even better. It's all planned in my head. It will happen one day, if I can convince my husband to work on it, that is!

My Sincere Apologies

I really owe you all an apology. My blogging of late has been non-existant. I've had a lot of things on my plate lately, and frankly the blog just wasn't my number one priority.  My husband is doing finals this week, and my son and I have been very sick. I had family stay over the weekend, it was Easter yesterday, and on Saturday we are leaving for a week-long cruise! So needless to say, I have been running around like a chicken without a head. {Is that imagery disgusting or what?}
The weekend before last, we went up the canyon to do a photo shoot for my husband's class. While we were there, I snuck away with the camera to capture the wonder of God's beautiful Earth.

Anyway, I hope you can forgive my not-blogging-as-much-as-normal for the next little while, as we will be out of the country, I will try to get a post scheduled to be posted while I am gone. I will be posting a really cool recipe for making your own laundry soap and cleaner that has seriously saved my family tons of money, {and it's green, too!}  I hope that you loved these pictures as much as I do, and can find inspiration in your world as well.
Much love!

My World

All around you is a beautiful world of inspiration. A little photo editing can be really inspiring. These are images from my town. I know it will make it look very quaint and rustic, but I drove a ways to get these photos. I do live in a small town, however, it is mostly residential. Not many businesses. It is a wonderful place to raise a family. We absolutely love it here.
As I have said before, here in Utah, Spring hasn't quite sprung yet. Just last week, we were playing outside, (I even got a sunburn!) Only to wake up on Sunday morning to a few inches of snow. The tumultuous Utah Spring has me craving for when Spring really does arrive.
And now, the photos...

A beautiful view of the wheat field a few miles down
the road

Something about this set up of a water tank, a broken-
down building, and a few hod-podge farm items speaks
to me. Especially with this sepia tone. It makes think of
the Pioneers and what the unsettled territory must have
looked like.

Aren't the mountains beautiful?
All of these photos (along with all of the chippy, broken, worn-in items that are so frequently blogged about) have inspired me to take a new direction with my kitchen. I've got a lot of wonderful ideas up my sleeve, and I can't wait to show them to you all. Keep watching, I've even got a give-away coming up!

What items (or pictures, or just ideas) give you inspiration?
You can share them in the comments, or email to me!!

Move on, already!

While I was blog hoppin' today, I ran onto this site: The Ugly Duckling House. They had a fun discussion going on today about decorating trends that are way over-used. I thought that this would be an interesting discussion here, so leave a comment and let me know what you are SO OVER. I am going to take it a step further though. In your comment, tell us what trends you think are SO HOT. Please be kind, and hopefully we'll get a great discussion going on.

My SO OVER trend:
Keep calm and carry on. SO OVER-used and frankly I never hopped on this bandwagon. First, I don't really care for the crown (even though I am an avid All-Things-English kinda girl) and I don't like to go with the crowd, so I don't know what it was about this trend, but it just wasn't for me.

My SO HOT trend:
All things vintage. This does not necessarily mean the distressed look to me. Which I honestly don't mind, (I also really like SOME glazed stuff too.) But, anything from the 1950's or earlier just tickles my fancy. They really don't make stuff like they used to, huh? I always joke that I was born in the wrong decade. FYI, if we had a choice, I'd take 1800's in England or 1930's in USA. I know you wanted to know that.
Anyway, leave me a comment and post a link back to my blog onto Facebook, Twitter, or whatever you use so we can get more ideas from each other. More people, the better!

New blogs that I watch

Hey everyone. There is nothing more that I like doing while my son is taking a nap than to blog-watch. Actually I do it in the morning too... and after he goes down for the night. I can't help it, I am obsessed.
Anyway, I just thought I'd post some of my faves, plus one that is hosting a super cute giveaway. I will be posting my own giveaway soon... So keep checking back!

Antique Chase: Very cute blog, she shows a bunch of flea market finds and I find it very inspiring. She is hosting a giveaway of a delightful little scale. (I hope I win!!!)

Miss Mustard Seed: Oh. My. Gosh. Seriously one of the best blogs out there. I always find wonderful inspiration from her stuff. I love the Union Jack dresser that she did, I know you will love it too.

Freckled Laundry: She has wonderful things on her blog. Everything is neutral toned, something I find very calming. She also sells lavender. Aren't lavender flowers just gorgeous?

Anyway, I hope that you find these wonderful blogs as helpful as I do.
Squeezes!
